Thermal and acoustic insulation of pipelines – Paroc Section Alucoat T insulation
Paroc Section Alucoat T mineral wool insulation is an effective solution for thermal and acoustic insulation of heating, central heating, steam, domestic hot water and air conditioning pipelines. The product is particularly recommended for industrial construction and chimney systems. Made of rock wool covered with reinforced aluminum foil with a self-adhesive overlap, it provides not only reduction of heat and noise losses, but also an aesthetic appearance of the installation.
Construction and properties
The insulation is characterized by high quality workmanship and thoughtful design. The aluminum foil acts as a barrier to water vapor, preventing condensation and corrosion. The star-shaped hole allows easy adjustment of the inner diameter to pipes of various dimensions, which greatly facilitates installation and minimizes material waste. Rock wool, as an insulating material, guarantees excellent thermal and acoustic properties, as well as fire resistance – reaction to fire class A2L - s1, d0. The thermal conductivity coefficient is 0.033 W/(m.K), which translates into energy efficiency of the installation. Additionally, the material does not emit harmful substances into the air (class M1), which is important for the health of building users.
Installation and application
Installation of the insulation is quick and easy thanks to the self-adhesive overlap. Sections with a length of 1.2 m minimize waste during installation. The product works perfectly both in new installations and during the modernization of existing systems. It is recommended to use PAROC AluCoat Tape for sealing connections and end sleeves to protect the edges of the insulation. It is also important to follow the recommendations regarding temperature during installation – both the temperature of the insulating material and the insulated element should be at least +10°C. Remember to secure mechanical connections with steel binding wire or cable ties at intervals of 300 mm. The temperature at the contact of the aluminum foil with the wool should not exceed +80°C.
