Thermal and acoustic insulation of pipelines – Paroc Section Alucoat T insulation

Paroc Section Alucoat T mineral wool insulation is an effective solution for thermal and acoustic insulation of heating, central heating, steam, water supply and air conditioning installations. The product is particularly recommended for use in HVAC systems where insulation properties and resistance to environmental conditions are crucial. Made of rock wool covered with reinforced aluminum foil with a self-adhesive overlap, it provides not only protection against heat loss and noise, but also an aesthetic appearance of the installation.

Construction and properties

The insulation is characterized by high insulation efficiency due to the use of rock wool with a thermal conductivity coefficient of 0.033 W/(m.K). The aluminum foil acts as a barrier to water vapor, preventing condensation and corrosion. The self-adhesive overlap facilitates and speeds up installation, minimizing the need for additional sealing materials. Mineral wool is a non-combustible material (Euroclass A2L - s1, d0) and safe for health – it does not emit harmful substances and does not cause irritation. Additionally, the material retains its insulating properties for a long time, providing durable protection for the installation.

Application and installation

Paroc Section Alucoat T insulation finds wide application in both residential and industrial construction. It is ideal for insulating pipelines in technical rooms, boiler rooms and in ventilation and air conditioning systems. Installation is quick and easy – simply wrap the pipe with insulation, press down the edges of the self-adhesive overlap and secure the joints with mounting tape every 300 mm. Thanks to the flexibility of the material, the insulation adapts to different pipe diameters, making it easy to use in atypical installations. Remember to maintain a temperature above +10°C during installation and to seal any cuts in the aluminum foil with PAROC AluCoat Tape to prevent moisture condensation.
