Reliable power supply for security and access control systems

The Grade 2 AWZG2-12V5A-C buffer power supply is designed to provide uninterrupted power to intrusion and hold-up alarm systems (SSWiN) and access control (KD) systems. It provides voltage stabilization at 13.8V DC, which guarantees correct operation of connected devices even in the event of a mains power failure. The power supply design allows for the installation of a battery with a capacity of up to 17Ah, ensuring long-term backup operation.

Functionality and safety

The device is characterized by high reliability and compliance with EN50131-6:2017 (Grade 2) and EN60839-11-2:2015+AC:2015 standards. It has built-in protection against overload (OLP), short circuit (SCP), overvoltage (OVP), low battery voltage (UVP) and tamper – protection against opening the housing. Additionally, the power supply is equipped with a microprocessor-based automation system that optimizes the battery charging process and monitors its condition. The battery charging current can be adjusted using a jumper (0.5A/1A/2A), adapting it to the capacity and type of battery.

Indicators and communication

The power supply informs about its status using LED indicators signaling the presence of mains voltage (AC), output voltage (AUX) and battery failure (APS). It also has OC type technical outputs (EPS – mains failure, APS – battery failure), which allow for remote monitoring of the power supply status by the alarm or access control system. The EPS output signals a mains power failure, and APS informs about battery problems – e.g. too low voltage or a break in the circuit.

Installation and parameters

The metal housing of the power supply is adapted for surface mounting and has a spacer from the ground to facilitate cabling. The power supply is designed to operate at temperatures from -10°C to +40°C. The maximum output current of the device is 5A, and the output power is 69W. It is important to choose the appropriate battery capacity – 7Ah or 17Ah batteries are recommended. The power supply is covered by a 5-year manufacturer's warranty.
