The JZ-PRG kit is an essential piece of equipment for anyone working with Unitronics Jazz controllers. Components and functionality

The kit includes everything you need to get started: MJ10-22-CS10 adapter, 2-meter MJ20-CB200 programming cable, and MJ20-PRG RS232 programming port. The adapter allows you to connect your computer to the programming cable, and the RS232 port is plugged directly into the Jazz controller socket, providing a stable serial interface. The included CD contains programming software, tools, and an extensive technical library, including MJ20-PRG technical specifications.

The kit allows not only downloading programs to the controller, but also PC-PLC communication and RS232 communication with external devices equipped with active power supply (RS232 positive voltage). This makes it easy to monitor system performance and make changes to the configuration.

Construction and technical parameters

The MJ20-PRG programming port features galvanic isolation, which increases the safety and reliability of the connection. It supports various data transmission speeds – from 300 to 9600 b/s – allowing you to adapt communication parameters to specific needs. The port is powered via pins 1 and 6 of the RJ11 connector (5-15 V DC), and RS232 positive voltage signals ensure correct communication. Avoid direct connection of the port to the power line – if such a connection is necessary, it is recommended to use a series resistor (e.g. 68 Ω 1 W for 12 V). The port is lightweight and compact – weighing only 30 grams.

The programming port offers RS232 communication with galvanic isolation and supports data transmission rates from 300 to 9600 b/s. Power is supplied in the range of 5-15 V DC (RS232 positive voltage), and the maximum cable length is 3 meters. The device operates at a temperature of 0°C to 50°C, and can be stored in the range of -20°C to 60°C with a relative humidity of 10% to 95% without condensation.

Important installation tips: Before installation, remove the cover from the Jazz socket. Gently slide the port into the socket, making sure the contacts are properly aligned. To remove the port, simply slide it out and replace the cover on the Jazz socket. Remember to exercise caution when working with electrical equipment – repairs and opening the device should only be performed by qualified service personnel.
