UniStream CX IO Expansion Kit 15m – Adapter for increasing controller capabilities

The UniStream CX IO Exp.Long Kit 15m expansion adapter is a solution that allows you to increase the number of input/output (I/O) modules connected to the UniStream™ controller. It allows for flexible expansion of automation systems, both in a single control cabinet and between cabinets. This makes it possible to adapt the system to changing needs without having to replace the main controller.

Construction and application

The kit consists of a base adapter, an end adapter, and a 15-meter long cable. These adapters allow you to connect additional Uni-I/O™ modules to the UniStream™ controller, expanding its functionality. We distinguish between two types of adapters: UAG-XK for panels with DIN rails and UAG-CX, which are connected directly to the I/O expansion slot in the controller. This specific model, UAG-CX-XKPL1500, is designed for UniStream™ controllers equipped with an I/O expansion slot and offers a long range thanks to the 15-meter cable.

• Long range: The 15-meter cable allows the I/O modules to be placed up to 15 meters away from the controller, making installation and wiring easier.
• Cascading capability: Up to five adapters can be connected in cascade to one controller, allowing support for up to 80 I/O modules (in the case of controllers with an I/O slot).
• Compatibility: The adapter is compatible with Uni-I/O™ and Uni-COM™ modules.
• Power supply: Adapters with integrated power supply require connection to a 24VDC power source and can power up to 16 modules regardless of the number mounted on the panel. Models without a power supply draw power from the UniStream™ controller.
• Daisy-chaining: The ability to connect adapters in series allows for flexible configuration of the I/O system.

Additional information:

• A maximum of 85 I/O modules can be connected to one UniStream™ controller (panel + CPU) or 80 modules (controller with I/O slot).
• Remember to properly connect the base adapter to the last element on the back of the HMI panel or directly to the slot in the controller.
• Short-range and long-range adapters are not interchangeable – use the appropriate models in each case.
