Welding machine – a device for connecting pipes

A welder is an electrical tool that enables welding, i.e. permanent and tight connection of elements of devices or structures made of metal or plastics. The contacting surfaces are heated to the appropriate temperature and pressed. There are different types of welding, and consequently two main types of welders: electrofusion welders and butt welders. Components made of metal are most often connected using electric resistance welding technology.

Electrofusion welders

Electrofusion welding is considered the most effective method of connecting plastic pipes, especially in water and sewage and gas installations. This process requires the use of special fittings with built-in heating elements and the use of an electrofusion welder. Thanks to electric impulses, the device generates heat, which melts the surfaces of the welded components. The effect of the process is to obtain a durable and tight connection. It should be remembered that electrofusion welding requires ensuring appropriate conditions. Work can be carried out at temperatures from -5 to 45oC in a place protected from water and significant moisture, strong wind and a large amount of dust.

Butt welders

Butt welding is a simple, reliable and safe method of connecting pipes and fittings. During butt welding using a butt welder, the pipe ends are melted and plasticized, which are pressed together mechanically, resulting in a uniform, durable connection. A butt welder is great at connecting pipes made of thermoplastics (e.g. polyethylene) with a wide range of diameters. Hydraulic butt welders are perfect for construction sites and workshops. Equipped with a hydraulic unit, they guarantee welding with optimal compression. A hydraulic welder ensures reliable quality of pipe welding and is easy to use.
