Fiber optic cable for demanding outdoor installations

This 16-fiber OS2 fiber optic cable, designated Z-XOTktsdD, is a robust solution for building backbone networks, telecommunications, CATV, and FTTx. Designed for laying in cable ducts or directly in the ground (in places not exposed to mechanical damage), it provides reliable data transmission over long distances. The cable is manufactured by ALANTEC, belonging to A-LAN Technologie, a renowned Polish manufacturer of structured cabling systems.

The cable is characterized by high mechanical strength thanks to the use of a central reinforcing core and a sheath made of aramid fibers – effectively protecting against damage and rodents. The interior of the tubes is filled with a hydrophobic gel that protects the fibers from moisture. The loose tube construction allows for flexible cable management and minimizes the risk of damage during installation and operation.

The cable uses single-mode 9/125 μm type OS2 fibers, which guarantees low signal loss and high transmission quality. The outer diameter of the cable is approximately 8.5 mm (with a tolerance of +/- 5%), and its weight is approximately 50 kg/km. The maximum pulling force during installation is 4000 N, and during operation – 2000 N. The minimum bending radius during installation is 90 mm, and during operation – 160 mm. The outer sheath made of polyethylene (PE) is resistant to UV radiation and weather conditions. The cable has a fire class of Fca according to EN 50575:2014 + A1:2016 and Regulation (EU) No. 305/2011 (CPR).
