This OS2 fiber optic cable, designated Z-XOTktsdD SM 48J 9/125 PE, is a reliable solution for long-distance data transmission. Designed for installation in cable ducts and directly in the ground (in areas not exposed to mechanical damage), it is suitable for extensive telecommunications networks, CATV, WAN, or FTTx. Construction and durability

The key to the cable's reliability is its solid construction. A plastic core surrounded by loose tubes containing optical fibers provides protection against mechanical damage. The inside of the tubes is filled with a hydrophobic gel that protects the fibers from moisture. An additional layer of aramid fibers provides a rodent protection barrier. The whole is surrounded by a durable polyethylene (PE) coating resistant to UV radiation. This ensures that the cable retains its properties even in harsh weather conditions. The maximum pulling force during installation is 4000 N, and during operation 2000 N, which facilitates installation and ensures connection stability.

Parameters and application

The cable uses single-mode (SM) 9/125 μm type OS2 fibers, guaranteeing high transmission parameters and minimal signal loss. It has 48 fibers, allowing for the construction of extensive networks with high bandwidth. It is compatible with the G.652.D and G.657.A standards, ensuring easy integration with existing infrastructure. The minimum bending radius during installation is 90 mm, and during operation 160 mm – it is worth considering this when designing the cable route. The cable has a fire class of Fca according to EN 50575:2014 + A1:2016 and Regulation (EU) No 305/2011 (CPR), which means its use in buildings without special safety requirements and in outdoor installations. Length marking every meter facilitates precise cutting and adaptation of the cable to the project needs.
