Outdoor OS2 Fiber Optic Cable – Reliable Data Transmission

Single-mode (SM - Single Mode) 9/125 μm fiber optic cable, designed for outdoor installations in cable ducts or directly in the ground, in places not exposed to mechanical damage. Thanks to the use of ALANTEC fibers with high transmission parameters and low dispersion, it ensures minimal signal loss over long distances. Ideal for extensive telecommunications networks, backbone networks, CATV, access networks, campus networks, WAN and FTTx. The cable construction also allows for suspension on functional poles while maintaining appropriate distances between fixings (up to 60 meters).

Construction and Durability

The cable core is built around a central plastic core surrounded by loose tubes containing optical fibers. The inside of the tubes is filled with a hydrophobic gel or non-woven fabric, providing moisture protection. The whole is surrounded by plastic and a durable sheath made of aramid fibers – this provides protection against rodents and mechanical damage. The green tube serves as a directional function. The outer sheath made of polyethylene (PE) is resistant to UV radiation and moisture, and the white informational printing facilitates identification and length measurement (every 1 meter).

Application and Compliance with Standards

This cable finds application in a wide range of telecommunications and network installations. It is compatible with various standards and markings, depending on the country of manufacture: Z-XOTktsdD or A-DQ(ZN)BH. It meets the standards PN-EN 50173 and ISO/IEC 11801. It uses fibers compliant with the G.652.D standard, which guarantees high transmission quality and compatibility with modern systems. The cable's fire class is Fca according to EN 50575:2014 + A1:2016 and Regulation (EU) No. 305/2011 (CPR).
