AustroPEX Pre-insulated Pipe – a comprehensive solution for demanding installations

AustroPEX CW pre-insulated pipe with a heating cable is a flexible and self-regulating system, designed for use in drinking water, chilled water and sewage installations. Made of durable PE 100 (according to EN 12201 standard), it ensures long-lasting and trouble-free operation. A key element is the self-regulating heating cable with a power of 10 W/m, which protects the installation from freezing even in extreme temperature conditions – down to -30°C. This is an ideal solution for both internal and external installations exposed to low temperatures.

Construction and insulation properties

The pipe consists of several layers that provide optimal thermal and mechanical protection. The inner pipe made of PE 100 is surrounded by flexible insulation made of XPE foam with a closed-cell microstructure. This innovative insulation is characterized by minimal water absorption (below 1% according to DIN 53428) and high thermal insulation properties (ʎ = 0.04 [W/m•K] at 40°C). The whole is protected by a corrugated outer layer made of HDPE, which provides not only protection against mechanical damage, but also facilitates unwinding and laying the pipe. The corrugated surface increases the flexibility of the system, which translates into faster and easier installation.
