AustroPEX CW pipe with heating cable A160-1x90 is a flexible and self-compensating solution designed for the construction of cold drinking water, chilled water and sewage installations. The construction based on a conductive pipe made of PE 100 (according to EN 12201 standard) combined with effective XPE foam insulation and a corrugated HDPE jacket ensures durability and easy installation. An additional, factory-installed heating cable with a power of 10 W/m allows for safe operation even in difficult temperature conditions, down to -30°C.

Construction and properties

The pipe consists of several key elements that together ensure high functionality and reliability. The inner pipe made of PE 100 is characterized by corrosion resistance and maintains drinking water standards. The surrounding insulation made of closed-cell microcellular XPE foam minimizes heat loss (thermal protection level 40°C: 0.04 [W/m•K]) and water absorption – below 1% according to DIN 53428. The whole is protected by a corrugated outer jacket made of HDPE, which increases the flexibility of the pipe, making it easier to lay and protects against mechanical damage. SDR 11 is a parameter defining the ratio of the inner diameter to the pipe wall thickness – the lower the SDR value, the thicker the wall and the higher the pressure resistance.
