PEHD Drainage Pipes – Durable and Versatile Solution
High-density polyethylene (PEHD) pipe with a diameter of 50 mm and a wall thickness of 3 mm, designed for the construction of drainage systems. It is characterized by high resistance to mechanical loads, chemicals, and UV radiation, making it an ideal choice for both external and internal installations. Thanks to its flexibility and light weight, installation is quick and convenient. This pipe is used for draining wastewater from buildings, roof drainage, as well as in industry and commercial facilities.
Geberit PEHD pipes are a proven system that allows for the creation of durable and tight connections using butt fusion or electrofusion welding. The ability to prefabricate elements in the workshop significantly speeds up the installation process, especially for larger projects. Additionally, these pipes can be laid directly in concrete, providing additional protection and structural stability.
Properties and Applications
The PEHD pipe with parameters 50x3.0x5000mm (outer diameter x wall thickness x length) has a ring stiffness class SN4 and a pressure class PN6.4. It is resistant to the action of most standard alkalis, acids and chemicals – up to 95%. UV resistance allows for long-term outdoor storage without loss of properties. A wide range of operating temperatures from -40°C to 80°C guarantees reliable operation in various climatic conditions.
- Versatility: ideal for draining water from buildings, roof drainage (gravity and vacuum), terrain drainage and industrial applications.
- Durability: resistant to mechanical damage, chemicals and UV radiation – ensures long-lasting operation without frequent replacement.
- Easy installation: butt fusion or electrofusion welding allows for tight and durable connections.
- Laying in concrete: the possibility of direct concrete embedding increases the stability of the structure and provides additional protection of the pipeline.
- Low weight: facilitates transport and installation, especially on higher floors of buildings.
- High throughput: optimal flow of wastewater thanks to the smooth inner surface of the pipe.
- Safety: corrosion resistance eliminates the risk of leaks and environmental pollution.
Construction and Parameters
The pipe is made of polyethylene (PE), which provides its flexibility and resistance to cracking. A wall thickness of 3 mm guarantees adequate mechanical strength while maintaining a low weight. The nominal diameter DN 50 corresponds to the inner diameter of the pipe, which is approximately 50 mm. The water capacity of the pipe is 1.5 l/m, which affects the efficiency of wastewater drainage. The pipe does not have thermal insulation or an anti-diffusion zone – its thermal properties are sufficient for most installation applications. The lack of a cap or socket requires the use of appropriate fittings to connect to other elements of the Geberit PEHD system.
