Geberit HDPE Drainage System – Durability and Versatility
Geberit HDPE pipes are a reliable choice for constructing drainage systems inside and outside buildings. They are characterized by high resistance to mechanical damage, chemical substances, and UV radiation, which guarantees long-lasting and trouble-free operation. They are ideal for draining water from buildings, roof drainage, as well as in industrial and commercial applications. The possibility of laying in concrete further expands their range of applications.
Structure and properties of HDPE pipes
The pipe with a diameter of 75 mm and a wall thickness of 3 mm is made of high-density polyethylene (PE-HD), which ensures its strength and flexibility. The circumferential stiffness class SN4 and the pressure class PN4.1 indicate its intended use for applications with moderate hydraulic load. UV resistance, thanks to special additives in the material composition, allows for long-term outdoor storage without loss of properties. The water capacity of 3.7 l/m affects the efficiency of liquid transport in the system.
Application and benefits for installers and users
The Geberit PE system is distinguished by its versatility – pipes can be laid in the ground, concrete or directly on the building structure. Butt fusion or electrofusion welding technology ensures durable and tight connections, minimizing the risk of leaks and failures. This means that both installers and end-users can count on trouble-free system operation for many years. The pipes are resistant to approximately 95% of standard alkalis, acids and chemicals, making them an ideal solution in demanding industrial or laboratory environments. The low weight of the pipes facilitates transport and installation, and the possibility of prefabricating elements in the workshop saves time on the construction site. Additionally, Geberit PE pipes can be laid directly in concrete, providing them with additional mechanical protection and structural durability. The operating temperature from -40°C to 80°C makes them resistant to extreme weather conditions.
