Solution for the treatment of rainwater and industrial wastewater

This steel coalescing separator integrated with a sedimentation tank is a heavy-duty industrial infrastructure component designed for outdoor installation. The unit handles high-flow circuits, ensuring effective separation of mineral contaminants from water. Thanks to its steel construction and a total capacity of 16 890 liters, the system is capable of retaining significant amounts of sludge and oil before they enter the public sewer system or the natural environment.

A key feature of this unit is its ability to operate at a nominal flow rate of 150 l/s, making it suitable for large parking lots, car washes, production halls, or fuel stations. In emergency situations or during heavy rainfall, the device can handle a maximum flow of up to 1500 l/s thanks to a 10-fold bypass mechanism. This mechanism allows for the safe discharge of excess water without the risk of damaging the coalescing layer or flushing out collected contaminants.

Steel construction and mechanical strength

The unit's basins are made of steel, resulting in high mechanical strength and resistance to difficult soil conditions and corrosion (with appropriate protection). The total weight is approximately 8200 kg, requiring careful preparation of the foundation and the use of appropriate cranes during installation. The unit height is 2650 mm, which determines the required excavation depth and access to the nozzles during installation.

The cover of this separator has been tested and certified for a static load of 400 kN. This means the device can be safely installed in areas with heavy vehicular traffic, such as internal roads, truck maneuvering yards, or parking lots for delivery vehicles. The connection nozzles are also made of steel, ensuring material consistency throughout the system and facilitating connections to large-diameter sewer pipes.

Application and operational specifics

The device is designed exclusively for the removal of mineral oils and other light non-polar liquids. It should be noted that it is not suitable for treating wastewater containing organic fats (e.g., from industrial kitchens), which require specialized fat separators. Water flowing through the system first enters the sedimentation chamber, where heavier sludge settles, and then passes through the coalescing layer, where small oil droplets merge into larger masses and rise to the surface into the retention tank.

Thanks to the large capacity of the sedimentation tank (the system part includes a working volume of approx. 15320 l), intervals between cleanings are extended, reducing operating costs for facilities with high traffic or production volumes. Installation should be carried out in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, HAURATON Polska Sp. z o.o., taking into account the necessity of regular emptying of the sediment chamber and replacement of coalescing inserts depending on the degree of contamination of the incoming water. All key operational data – from the nominal flow rate of 150 l/s to the maximum height of 2650 mm – have been optimized for stable operation in harsh outdoor conditions.
