AQUAFIX SKGBP 170 steel coalescing separator with sedimentation chamber and 5-way bypass, nominal flow rate 170 l/s, max. 850 l/s, sedimentation chamber capacity 19020 l, steel nozzles 182170
Solution for high-capacity industrial wastewater treatment
The AQUAFIX SKGBP 170 coalescing separator is a heavy-duty steel system designed to remove mineral oils from stormwater and process water in areas with high flow intensity. The device features a nominal capacity of 170 l/s, enabling effective handling of sudden, intense rainfall while maintaining high separation efficiency. In emergency situations or during short-term flow peaks, the system can handle up to 850 l/s thanks to a 5-fold bypass, which protects the installation from overload and ensures continuous operation without the risk of clogging.
Steel construction and sedimentation tank capacity
The main structural element is a basin made of steel, giving the device exceptional mechanical strength and resistance to difficult soil conditions. The total weight is approximately 7650 kg, which requires proper ground preparation during installation but guarantees stability even under high dynamic loads. The device cover is designed to withstand a load of 400 kN, meaning the separator can be safely installed in zones for heavy equipment or vehicles with high gross weight.
Inside the system, there is a sedimentation tank with a capacity of 19 020 liters. This large volume allows for effective retention of mineral sediments and sand before entering the actual oil separation chamber. This reduces the frequency of required inspections and cleaning of the coalescing chamber and extends the service life of the filter elements. The inlet and outlet nozzles are also made of steel, ensuring tight connections and corrosion resistance in the wastewater environment. The total height of the device is 2650 mm, which must be taken into account when designing the depth of the installation excavation.
Application and operating principles
The device is dedicated exclusively to the separation of mineral oils (e.g., gasoline, diesel fuel) and is not suitable for removing organic fats of food origin – for such applications, other types of separators are required. Installation is performed exclusively outdoors, in an earth excavation.
The cleaning process is based on the principle of coalescence: small oil droplets merge on special plates, forming larger clusters that float to the water surface, where they are collected by the skimming system. This effectively prevents mineral oils from entering the stormwater sewer network or watercourses, meeting rigorous environmental protection requirements. The high structural strength (cover load 400 kN) allows installation under truck access roads or maneuvering yards without risk of damage. The nominal flow rate of 170 l/s, in turn, makes this an ideal solution for large logistics parking lots, industrial fuel stations, or car washes serving truck fleets.
It is worth remembering that this device does not have a function for removing organic fats (e.g., from industrial kitchens), so its application is limited to wastewater containing mineral oils and solid sediments. Regular cleaning of the sedimentation tank with a capacity of nearly 20 m³ is crucial for maintaining the declared separation efficiency throughout the operational period.
