The AN 6 l-SIL 2x1.5 compensating cable is a specialized cable designed to connect thermocouples to measuring devices. Its main task is to ensure the accuracy of temperature measurement by minimizing errors resulting from thermoelectric potential differences at the connections. The cable's construction, with conductors made of special alloys (Fe/Cu-Ni, Ni/Cr-Ni or Pt/Rh-Pt), guarantees compatibility with various types of thermocouples.
Construction and practical application
The cable consists of conductors made of appropriate materials, insulated with PVC, silicone, fluoropolymer or fiberglass – the choice of insulation is adapted to specific working conditions. The conductors are shielded with a braid of tinned steel or copper wires, which provides resistance to electromagnetic interference and signal stability. This cable is used in control and measurement technology, especially where high temperature measurement accuracy is required – e.g. in the food, chemical, metallurgical or energy industries. Because the compensating cable generates a thermoelectric voltage similar to that produced by the thermocouple itself (up to +200°C), it allows for reliable readings even at large distances between the sensor and the measuring device.
