Power cable for inverters – reliability and electromagnetic compatibility
This specialized PVC cable, designated TOPFLEX®-EMV-2YSLCY-J 4G6 mm², is designed for efficient and safe power supply to motors using frequency converters. This cable meets the requirements of DIN VDE 0250, guaranteeing its high quality and reliability in demanding industrial applications. Designed for medium mechanical load, it provides flexible connections without the risk of damage caused by stretching.
The cable is ideal for use in dry, humid and wet rooms (but not outdoors), and its double-screened construction provides excellent electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). This is crucial in installations where electromagnetic fields could interfere with the operation of devices or affect the environment. Therefore, it is suitable for the automotive, food, environmental protection, packaging and machinery industries – everywhere where high precision and operational stability are required.
Construction and properties
The cable is characterized by a solid construction that affects its durability and functionality. Copper strands are twisted according to DIN VDE 0295 cl. 5 and BS 6360 cl. 5 standards, and the insulation is made of PE (polyethylene), ensuring high voltage strength and minimal dielectric losses. The strands are twisted concentrically and protected by two screens: aluminum foil and a braid of copper wires. The whole is surrounded by a transparent outer PVC coating, which facilitates the identification of strands (colored according to DIN VDE 0293-308) and provides additional protection against external factors.
It is worth noting the operating temperature range of the cable: from -40°C to +80°C during stationary operation and from +5°C to +80°C during installation. The conductor cross-section of 6 mm² allows for safe current transmission in various industrial applications. The outer diameter of the cable is approximately 15.3 mm.
