High-temperature resistant PVC cable – reliability in harsh conditions

This black HELUTHERM® 120 cable, with a cross-section of 2x0.75 mm², is an ideal solution for applications requiring resistance to elevated temperatures. The use of special PVC ensures reliable operation in machines, devices and engines operating in hot environments, such as paint shops or dryers. The cable is designed for installation in dry, damp and wet rooms, as well as outdoors.

Construction and properties

The cable is characterized by a flexible construction with a multi-strand copper core (class 5 according to DIN VDE 0295), which facilitates installation and ensures good flexibility. The core insulation is made of high-quality PVC (TI3), and the outer jacket is made of high-temperature resistant PVC (TM3). The cores are identified by colors in accordance with DIN VDE 0293-308, which facilitates identification during installation. The cable complies with DIN VDE 0285-525-2-11 / DIN EN 50525-2-11.

Operating parameters and safety

The HELUTHERM® 120 cable retains its properties over a wide temperature range – from -30°C to +105°C during stationary operation and from -5°C to +105°C during flexible operation (short-term up to +120°C). The rated voltage is 500 V. The cable has been tested to confirm its self-extinguishing and flame-retardant properties (VDE 0482-332-1-2 / DIN EN 60332-1-2 / IEC 60332-1-2). The outer diameter of the cable is approximately 5.3 mm. The insulation resistance is minimum 20 MOhm x km, and the test voltage is 2000 V. The minimum bending radius for flexible operation is 7.5 x the outer diameter of the cable, and for stationary operation – 4 x the outer diameter of the cable. The materials used in production are cadmium and silicone-free and do not negatively affect the painting process.
