(LIY-CY) 5x0.5 cable is a flexible solution for data and power transmission in applications requiring compact sizes. The screened construction and copper cores ensure reliable signal transmission and protection against electromagnetic interference. This cable is used in dry, humid and wet rooms, but is not intended for outdoor installation.

Application and construction

This cable works particularly well where minimal outer diameter is important – in the production of tools, mechanical engineering, electronics, computers and measurement and control systems. This makes it ideal for miniature plugs and connections in tight spaces. The cable construction includes five copper cores with a cross-section of 0.5 mm², PVC insulation, a screen in the form of a braid of copper wires, and an outer protective coating of grey PVC (RAL 7001). The cores are twisted in layers for optimal pitch, and their colour identification is carried out in accordance with DIN 47100.

Properties and parameters

The LIY-CY 5x0.5 cable is characterized by a wide operating temperature range – from -40°C to +80°C (fixed installation) and from -5°C to +80°C (flexible installation). The rated voltage is 300/300 V. It is worth noting its resistance to oils and chemicals. The cable complies with DIN VDE 0812 and has a CE certificate confirming compliance with LVD Directive 2014/35/EU. The minimum bending radius for mobile installations is 10x the cable diameter, and for fixed installations – 5x the cable diameter. The cable is metered for convenient dispensing of the required length.
