Single-core FEP wire – reliability in extreme conditions

This specialized wire with fluoropolymer FEP insulation (HELUFLON®-FEP-6Y) is a solution for installations requiring resistance to high temperatures and aggressive chemical environments. The wire is particularly recommended for use in furnaces, brickworks, heating devices, as well as in the chemical industry, where it is exposed to flames, alkalis, acids, oils and gasoline. Its construction with silver-plated copper ensures excellent conductivity and durability.

Construction and properties

The wire is characterized by a single stranded core made of silver-plated copper. FEP-HELUFLON® insulation guarantees exceptional resistance to external factors. The core has a flexibility class of 5, which facilitates installation and provides flexibility in hard-to-reach places. The core cross-section is 16 mm², and the rated voltage is 600 V. The approximate outer diameter is 7 mm.

• Exceptional thermal resistance: Operating temperature range from -100°C to +205°C (short-term up to +230°C) allows the wire to be used in the most demanding applications.
• Chemical resistance: Complete resistance to flames, alkalis, acids, food products, oils and gasoline makes the wire ideal for use in the chemical and food industries.
• High insulation: FEP-HELUFLON® insulating material provides high insulation resistance (minimum 2 GOhm/km) and low dielectric losses.
• Safety: Self-extinguishing and flame-retardant material, tested according to DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2 and IEC 60332-1 standards.
• Durability: Silver-plated copper core ensures excellent conductivity and corrosion resistance.
• Flexibility: Construction with flexible stranded core (class 5) facilitates installation and adaptation to the specifics of the installation.

HELUFLON®-FEP-6Y wire is primarily used in installations and construction of switchgear cabinets operating in extreme thermal conditions. It will also be useful in:

The wire meets the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking). The minimum bending radius is 10x cable diameter for flexible bending and 4x cable diameter for stationary bending.
