Versatile workshop cable for demanding applications
The H05VV-F workshop cable with a cross-section of 4x4,0 mm² is a professional solution designed to power mobile appliances in environments with medium mechanical loads. Manufactured in accordance with the harmonized standard EN 50525-2-11, it guarantees full compatibility on the European market and the highest standards of electrical installation safety.
Construction and materials ensuring reliability
At the heart of the cable are four class 5 copper cores (flexible multi-wire) with a cross-section of 4 mm² each, providing excellent flexibility while maintaining high current-carrying capacity. Each core is made of soft copper wires with a diameter of 0,31 mm, insulated with TI2 type PVC material according to the EN 50363-3 standard.
The insulation and sheath are made of certified polyvinyl chloride (PVC), which is characterized by resistance to medium mechanical loads and stability of parameters across a wide temperature range. The surface of the cores is uncoated, which facilitates processing and terminal assembly.
The four-core construction provides a complete connection: 3 phases + protective conductor (PE). Core identification is implemented by colors: blue, brown, black, and grey.
Operating parameters and operating conditions
The cable operates at a rated voltage of U0/U = 300/500 V, allowing for stable operation in medium-load installations. The maximum core operating temperature is +70°C, and during a short circuit, it can temporarily reach +150°C. Under normal operating conditions, an ambient temperature range from -40°C to +50°C is permissible.
The core resistance at 20°C is 4,95 Ω/km, which guarantees low energy losses during operation. The approximate outer diameter is 12,18 mm, and the linear weight is 265,179 kg/km. The minimum bending radius in fixed installations is 73,08 mm (6D).
The cable demonstrates flame retardancy according to the IEC 60332-1-2 standard and has a fire reaction class of Eca according to EN 13501-6. Additionally, it is characterized by resistance to low temperatures in accordance with EN 60811-504+505+506.
Professional applications and installation
H05VV-F finds wide application in powering domestic, office, and kitchen equipment. It is ideal for connecting mobile appliances in dry and damp rooms under medium mechanical loads - particularly recommended for washing machines, centrifuges, refrigerators, and kitchen appliances.
It can be used for heating devices provided that contact with hot elements is avoided. Permissible for permanent installation in furniture, decorative enclosures, or partitions. It is not suitable for outdoor installations in open air or for long-term exposure to UV radiation.
During installation, attention should be paid to the proper preparation of the core ends - due to the multi-wire structure, the use of ferrules is recommended for optimal electrical contact and to prevent individual wires from being cut by terminal screws.
Standardly packed on drums of 500 or 1000 meters.
