The YDY 2x2.5 cable is a reliable choice for electrical installations in residential and commercial buildings. Made of copper, with insulation and an outer PVC coating, it ensures safe and durable power transmission. This cable is designed for permanent installation in dry and damp rooms, both under plaster and on plaster. Its versatility makes it ideal for both professional installers and end-users undertaking DIY projects.

Construction and operating parameters

The YDY 2x2.5 cable is characterized by a solid construction. Two copper conductors with a cross-section of 2.5 mm² provide adequate conductivity, and the PVC insulation guarantees safe use. The outer diameter of the cable is approximately 8.1 mm, and the minimum permissible bending radius in fixed installations is 97.2 mm – making installation easier even in tight spaces. The cable is resistant to low temperatures and can operate in the range of -30°C to +50°C (during installation from -15°C to +50°C), making it suitable for use in various environmental conditions. The conductor resistance is 7.41 Ohm/km.

Safety and compliance with standards

This cable meets the requirements of IEC 60332-1-2, confirming its fire resistance. The reaction to fire class is Eca (according to EN 13501-6). Although it does not have a protective barrier or is halogen-free, it provides basic protection against overload and short circuits in electrical installations. It should be remembered that the cable is not intended for underground installations or for use in chemically aggressive environments. The color of the core insulation is a combination of blue and brown, which facilitates identification during installation in accordance with HD 308 S2.
