Application and Construction of the Underground Grease Separator

The device is designed for underground installation in the non-freezing zone, where separation of fats from domestic or industrial wastewater is required, e.g., in restaurants, hotels, or catering facilities. The tank is made entirely of polyethylene (PE), eliminating the risk of corrosion of metal components in contact with aggressive wastewater. Thanks to the rounded bottom and the absence of dead zones, the tank emptying process is fast and effective – the contents (sludge and fat) can be completely removed manually using a suction hose after opening the hermetic covers.

The device construction allows installation at a depth from 765 mm to 1200 mm (depending on the level of the supply pipe), facilitating adaptation of the installation to site conditions. The telescopic top extension enables precise leveling with the ground surface, while the sealed covers prevent odors from escaping and rainwater from entering the tank interior.

Key Parameters and Operational Capabilities

The separator with nominal size NS 20 offers significant working capacity, resulting in longer intervals between services. The tank has a total capacity of 5800 liters, of which 3800 liters is the active volume for wastewater, and an additional sludge chamber with a capacity of 2000 liters ensures effective sludge accumulation prior to removal. The estimated grease storage capacity is 800 liters. The device is suitable for operation in soil conditions and in the presence of groundwater (up to a level of 1810 mm from the lower edge of the tank bottom).

High mechanical strength allows installation under traffic surfaces with light and medium loads. The cover made of gray cast iron meets load class B 125 (12.5 tons), meaning it can be exposed to passenger and delivery vehicle traffic. Connection openings with nominal diameter DN 200 are used for system connection; these are compatible with PE-HD, PVC-KG, PP, and AS pipes according to relevant DIN standards.

Warranty and Compliance with Standards

The manufacturer provides a 20-year warranty on the tank material (PE), which is a significant argument for long-term facility operation. The device was designed in accordance with the requirements of standard EN 1825:2004 and holds the certificate of conformity Z-54.1-440. The "Standard" (Basic) version requires manual emptying through open manholes – it does not include automatic level sensor systems or SonicControl systems, making it a simple-to-operate solution less prone to electronic failures and with lower investment costs.

The device is delivered complete and ready for installation (after pipe connection by the installer). The absence of metal components inside the tank ensures chemical resistance even with highly aggressive wastewater containing detergents or organic acids typical of the catering industry.
