Modular processor for automation systems

This processor module, designed to work with Modicon M580 systems, is a key element in building advanced control systems. It offers wide expansion and configuration possibilities, allowing adaptation to specific requirements of industrial applications. It is a standalone module that can be installed on dedicated BMEXBPxxxx and BMXXBPxxxx racks (from version PV02). It allows managing the Modicon X80 I/O platform in single- or multi-rack configurations.

The BMEP58CPROS3 processor stands out with a large memory capacity – 18000 kByte – which allows for the implementation of complex control algorithms. It has an integrated display to facilitate diagnostics and configuration. It provides support for multiple communication protocols, such as EtherNet/IP and TCP/IP, enabling integration with other devices and systems in the industrial plant. Additionally, support for the ASI protocol expands the possibilities of connecting various sensors and actuators.

Safety and reliability

The module has been designed with applications requiring a high level of safety in mind. It is compatible with safety systems and has ATEX certificates for areas at risk of explosion from gases (cat. 3G) and dust (cat. 3D). The robust construction and wide operating temperature range (-25°C to +60°C) guarantee reliable operation even in harsh industrial conditions. It is equipped with a USB port for easy configuration and software updates. DC 24V power supply ensures stable system operation. Rack mounting capability increases installation flexibility.

This processor offers extended I/O capabilities, including 1024 analog inputs and 4096 digital inputs, as well as 1024 analog outputs and 4096 digital outputs. Supported communication protocols include EtherNet/IP, TCP/IP, and ASI. The device meets ATEX Zone 2/22 safety requirements, although the PL level according to EN ISO 13849-1 and SIL according to IEC 61508 requires additional configuration. Large memory capacity – 18000 kByte – enables the implementation of complex control applications, and the ability to expand the program memory provides flexibility for future system expansions. Operation in a wide temperature range (-25°C to +60°C) guarantees reliable operation, and the integrated display facilitates diagnostics and configuration of the device.
