Power cable for submersible pumps – reliability and safety in contact with drinking water

This halogen-free power cable is specifically designed for use with submersible pumps used to draw drinking water. Its construction and materials guarantee not only efficient power transmission but also safety for health and the environment. The cable meets stringent European standards, confirmed by numerous approvals for contact with water intended for consumption.

Construction and application

The CLEAN CABLE 3G1,5 mm² cable is manufactured in accordance with IEC 60502-1. It is primarily used to power submersible pump motors, and its construction allows for safe installation in drinking water at depths of up to 600 meters. Multi-strand copper conductors, class 5 (DIN VDE 0295 / IEC 60228) provide good flexibility and connection durability. Insulation made of cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) guarantees high electrical and mechanical resistance. Colored conductors facilitate identification during installation, in accordance with HD 308 S2. The outer sheath is made of cross-linked, halogen-free plastic in blue (RAL 5015), which increases safety in the event of a fire and minimizes the emission of toxic gases.

• Safety for health: The cable has a Hygiene Certificate from the National Institute of Public Health – State Hygiene Institute (NIZP-PZH), approving it for contact with water intended for human consumption. It also has European approvals: KTW (Germany), WRAS (United Kingdom), ACS (France) and D.M.174 (Italy).
• Resistance to environmental conditions: The cable is resistant to chlorinated and ozonated water at room temperature, allowing its use in swimming pools and other installations using these disinfectants.
• Wide temperature range: Flexible operating temperature range from -25°C to +50°C and stationary from -40°C to +80°C ensures reliable operation in various climatic conditions. The maximum momentary conductor temperature in drinking water is +50°C, and the permissible operating temperature in drinking water is +40°C.
• Halogen-free: The materials used to manufacture the cable are halogen-free (according to VDE 0482-267-2-3/EN 50267-2-3 and VDE 0482-754-2/EN 60754-2), which minimizes the risk of toxic gas formation during a fire.
• Ozone resistance: The cable is characterized by high resistance to ozone (DIN VDE 0473-811-403/EN 60811-403), which extends its service life in harsh operating conditions.
• Flexibility and durability: Multi-strand copper conductors provide good cable flexibility, making it easier to install and connect. The minimum bending radius is 5 x the outer diameter of the cable.
• Rated voltage: The cable is designed to operate at a voltage of 0.6/1kV, and the test voltage is 4000V.
