Flexible cable 500V OZ-BL-CY 3x1.5 blue for EX zones shielded 14051

Flexible, shielded cable designed for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. The cable construction is based on DIN VDE 0285-525-2-51 / DIN EN 50525-2-51 standards, ensuring safety and reliability in demanding industrial conditions. The blue jacket color facilitates identification in intrinsically safe systems. This cable is ideal for control and measuring installations where maintaining signal integrity and minimizing interference is crucial.

Construction and properties

The OZ-BL-CY 3x1.5 cable features a solid construction, ensuring long-term operation. Multi-strand flexible copper conductors, class 5 (DIN VDE 0295 / IEC 60228), guarantee good flexibility and resistance to material fatigue. Conductor insulation made of PVC type Z 7225 provides effective protection against electrical damage. Twisted conductor layers minimize interference. Shielding in the form of a braided tinned copper wire screen (approx. 85% coverage) protects against electromagnetic interference (EMC). The outer sheath made of PVC (DIN VDE 0207-363-4-1 / DIN EN 50363-4-1 type TM2) provides resistance to external factors and mechanical damage. The cable is metered for easy installation and precise adaptation to installation needs.

Applications and operating parameters

This cable is used in outdoor installations and in areas at risk of explosion, in accordance with DIN VDE 0165-1 / DIN EN 60079-14 / IEC 60079-14 (Section 16.2.2). It is intended for intrinsically safe systems of type -i-. Thanks to its properties, it is ideally suited as a control and measuring cable in control and measurement technology, where high precision and reliability of signal transmission are required.

The cable has a wide operating temperature range – flexibly from -10°C to +80°C and stationary from -40°C to +80°C, allowing its use in various environmental conditions. The operating voltage AC U0/U is 300/500 V, ensuring safe operation in standard electrical installations. Coupling resistance at approximately 250 Ohm/km at 30 MHz minimizes the risk of electromagnetic interference. The minimum bending radius is 10x cable diameter for flexible operation and 5x cable diameter for fixed laying, making installation easier even in tight spaces. Mutual capacitance conductor/conductor at a frequency of 800 Hz is approximately 140 pF/m, and conductor/screen also at 800 Hz is approximately 187 pF/m, affecting the quality of signal transmission. The nominal conductor cross-section is 1.5 mm², and the outer diameter of the cable is approximately 7.7 mm, which is important when planning cable routes and installing connectors.

The cable is resistant to UV radiation and weathering, allowing it to be used both indoors and outdoors. The materials used in production are silicone and cadmium-free and do not contain substances that hinder painting, which affects its durability and safety.
