This blue, shielded flexible cable OZ-BL-CY 5x0.75 is designed to operate in demanding environments, including explosion-hazardous areas. It provides safe and reliable connections in control and measurement installations where protection against electromagnetic interference is crucial. Its construction and materials guarantee long-term operation even in extreme conditions.

Construction and properties

This cable stands out with carefully selected materials and a solid construction. Made of five copper conductors with a cross-section of 0.75 mm², insulated with PVC, it provides optimal flexibility and easy installation. The conductors are twisted in layers, which minimizes the risk of mechanical damage. Additionally, a copper braid shield effectively protects against electromagnetic interference (EMC), which is particularly important in precise control and measurement systems. The outer PVC coating provides resistance to atmospheric factors and UV radiation.

Applications and compliance with standards

The OZ-BL-CY 5x0.75 cable finds wide application in intrinsically safe installations according to DIN VDE 0285-525-2-51 / DIN EN 50525-2-51 and in areas subject to explosion hazard (according to DIN VDE 0165-1 / DIN EN 60079-14 / IEC 60079-14). It is ideal for use as a control and measuring cable in control and measurement technology, especially where high resistance to interference is required. Thanks to the CE certification, the product meets the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU. The cable is metered for easy dispensing for specific installations.

The cable is characterized by high flexibility thanks to conductor class 5, which facilitates installation even in tight spaces. It is intended for EX zones and meets strict standards regarding explosion protection. The copper braid shield minimizes the influence of electromagnetic interference on control and measurement signals. Made of high-quality materials, it is resistant to weather conditions, UV radiation and oil (with reservations – see technical documentation). It allows operation in a wide temperature range from -40°C to +80°C (flexibly from -10°C to +80°C). Numbers on the conductor insulation facilitate correct wiring. It has low capacitances: mutual capacitance conductor/conductor is approximately 140 pF/m at 800 Hz, and conductor/screen approximately 187 pF/m at 800 Hz. The minimum bending radius is flexibly 10x cable diameter; for fixed laying: 5x cable diameter.
