Power cable for submersible pumps – reliability and safety

This blue, four-core CLEAN CABLE power cable with a cross-section of 16 mm² is specifically designed to operate in the harsh conditions encountered when powering submersible pumps. Its construction and materials guarantee long-lasting and safe operation, even in direct contact with drinking water. The cable is manufactured in accordance with IEC 60502-1, which confirms its high quality and compliance with European standards.

Construction and properties

The cable is distinguished by its advanced construction, which provides optimal electrical and mechanical parameters. Multi-strand copper conductors, class 5 (according to DIN VDE 0295/IEC 60228) are insulated with cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE), ensuring high resistance to damage and aging. The conductors are color-coded according to HD 308 S2 for easy identification. The outer sheath is made of cross-linked halogen-free plastic, minimizing the risk of toxic gas formation in the event of a fire. Additionally, the cable is characterized by high flexibility in the temperature range of -25°C to +50°C and resistance to ozone (DIN VDE 0473-811-403/EN 60811-403). The operating voltage is 0.6/1kV and the test voltage is 4000V. The minimum bending radius is 5x the outer diameter of the cable.

Application and approvals

CLEAN CABLE is designed to operate in demanding conditions – it can be submerged in drinking water to a depth of up to 600 meters. It has numerous European approvals confirming its safety and suitability for contact with water intended for human consumption: Polish PZH (Hygienic Certificate of the National Institute of Public Health – State Hygiene Institute), German KTW, British WRAS, French ACS and Italian D.M.174. It can also be used in chlorinated and ozonated swimming pool water at room temperature. Thanks to these properties, it is an ideal solution for both installers performing plumbing installations and users looking for reliable and safe power supply for a submersible pump. The cable weight is approximately 0.88 kg per meter and the outer diameter is 21.9 mm.
