Power cable for submersible pumps – reliability and safety in contact with drinking water

This high-quality power cable, designated as CLEAN CABLE, is specifically designed to power submersible pump motors. Its construction and materials guarantee safe and reliable operation even in harsh conditions, including direct contact with drinking water. The cable is an ideal solution for both professional installers and end-users looking for a proven solution for powering submersible pumps.

Construction and properties

The CLEAN CABLE 4G25 mm² cable stands out with its solid construction, ensuring long-term operation. It is made of multi-strand copper conductors, class 5 (according to DIN VDE 0295/IEC 60228), surrounded by cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation. The conductors are color-coded according to HD 308 S2, which facilitates identification during installation. The whole is covered with a cross-linked halogen-free plastic coating in blue (RAL 5015). The halogen-free properties are confirmed by standards VDE 0482-267-2-3/EN 50267-2-3 and VDE 0482-754-2/EN 60754-2.

It is worth noting the wide operating temperature range – from -40°C to +90°C (stationary) and from -25°C to +50°C (flexible). The cable is also characterized by high ozone resistance (DIN VDE 0473-811-403/EN 60811-403) and a test voltage of 4000V. The minimum bending radius is 5x the outer diameter of the cable.

Application and approvals

The CLEAN CABLE is designed to operate in drinking water at a depth of up to 600 meters. Its use in such an environment is confirmed by numerous European approvals, including:

• PZH – Polish Hygienic Certificate of the National Institute of Public Health – State Hygiene Institute, allowing contact with water intended for human consumption.
• KTW – German approval for drinking water.
• WRAS – British approval for drinking water.
• ACS – French approval for drinking water.
• D.M.174 – Italian approval for drinking water.

In addition to use in drinking water, the cable can also be used in chlorinated and ozonated swimming pool water at room temperature. It will be perfect for powering submersible pumps in wells, boreholes or retention tanks.
