This two-pole residual current circuit breaker from the DX³ series by Legrand provides reliable protection of electrical installations against the effects of short circuits, overloads and electric shock. It combines the functions of two devices – an overcurrent circuit breaker and a residual current device – saving space in the distribution board. Designed for operation in circuits with a voltage of 230V and a current of 20A, with a residual current sensitivity of 30mA, it provides comprehensive protection for both the installation and users.
Functionality and installation
The P312 circuit breaker is characterized by a B characteristic, which means it reacts quickly to short circuits but is more tolerant to short-term overloads, e.g. when starting motors. This reduces the risk of unnecessary tripping of the circuit. Installation is on a standard TH35 rail, and the installation depth is 44 mm. The integrated test button allows regular checking of the correct operation of the residual current mechanism – crucial for ensuring continuous protection. The possibility of simultaneously disconnecting the N pole increases safety.
Technical parameters and application
The circuit breaker has a breaking capacity of up to 6 kA, which guarantees effective disconnection of the circuit in the event of a serious failure. Energy limitation class 3 provides additional safety in the event of an electric arc. The cross-section of the connected conductors can range from 0.75 mm² to 16 mm² (solid core) or 0.75 mm² to 10 mm² (stranded), providing great flexibility in cable selection. The device complies with IEC/EN 61009-1 standards and has a protection rating of IP20, which means protection against contact with fingers and solid objects larger than 12.5 mm. The locking mechanism prevents accidental adjustment of the circuit breaker.
