This black, shielded flexible cable OZ-500-C with a cross-section of 4x0.5 mm² is a reliable solution for electrical connections requiring flexibility and protection against interference. The cable is designed to operate in various environmental conditions, both indoors and outdoors. Its construction provides resistance to oils, chemicals and UV radiation, making it an ideal choice for demanding industrial applications.

Construction and properties

The cable is characterized by a solid construction: twisted copper strands, high-quality PVC insulation and a copper braid screen providing effective protection against electromagnetic interference (EMC). The strands are numbered for easy identification during installation and maintenance. The outer jacket made of PVC TM2 provides additional mechanical protection and resistance to weathering. The cable is metered, making it easy to precisely adjust the length to the installation needs.

In addition, the cable meets the safety standards DIN VDE 0285-525-2-51/DIN EN 50525-2-51 and has a CE certificate confirming compliance with the low-voltage directive 2014/35/EU. The materials used in production are free of silicone, cadmium and paint-inhibiting substances. Tests confirm its self-extinguishing and flame-retardant properties (DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2 / DIN EN 60332-1-2 / IEC 60332-1-2).

Applications and operating parameters

The OZ-500-C cable is designed for medium mechanical stress in flexible connections without tensile stress. It can be used in dry, damp and wet rooms as well as outdoors (not directly in the ground or water). It is ideal for use in mechanical engineering for control, signaling and measurement on production lines and conveyor belts.

• The rated voltage is 500 V, ensuring safe operation in standard installations.
• The cable maintains flexibility over a wide temperature range, from -10°C to +80°C, and can operate permanently at temperatures from -40°C to +80°C.
• The outer diameter of the cable is approximately 6.8 mm.
• High insulation resistance (min. 20 MOhm x km) guarantees minimal energy losses and safe operation.
• Coupling resistance does not exceed 250 Ohm/km.
• The minimum bending radius is 10 x cable diameter during flexible operation and 5 x cable diameter during fixed laying, making installation easier in tight spaces.
• Radiation resistance up to 80 x 10⁶ cJ/kg (up to 80 Mrad) enables the use of the cable in radiation-exposed environments.

For optimal protection against EMC interference, it is recommended to ensure a wide and continuous contact of the copper braid with the terminals – for example, using appropriate cable glands.
