Robust rubber cable for outdoor and industrial applications

This yellow NSSHÖU 4G95 mm² rubber cable is a solid solution for powering high-power devices in demanding conditions. The cable is designed for both fixed and mobile installations where mechanical and moisture resistance are crucial. It is suitable for both construction and mechanical engineering, especially where equipment operates outdoors.

The NSSHÖU cable is characterized by high flexibility thanks to the EPR rubber insulation, which provides long-term protection against cracking caused by ozone. The cable construction has been carefully designed to ensure reliable operation even in difficult weather conditions. It is not recommended for use as a drum cable or in robotics.

Construction and properties

The cable is made of stranded copper conductors, twisted according to DIN VDE 0295 cl. 5, BS 6360 cl. 5 and IEC 60228 cl. 5 standards. The insulation of the conductors is made of EPR rubber (3GI3) compliant with DIN VDE 0207 part 20, and the identification of the conductors is carried out according to DIN VDE 0294-308 – color-coded for cables up to 5 conductors and black-and-white numbering for more conductors. The protective conductor is yellow-green (above 3 conductors). The whole is surrounded by an inner (GM1b) and outer (5GM5) rubber jacket compliant with DIN VDE 0207 part 21, which provides additional mechanical and chemical protection.

The cable has the following properties:

• Flexibility: EPR rubber insulation provides good flexibility even at low temperatures (down to -40°C).
• Safety: The cable meets the requirements of IEC 60332-1-2 regarding fire performance.
• Wide operating temperature range: Possibility of operation in the temperature range from -40°C to +80°C (stationary) and from -25°C to +80°C (flexible), and the permissible temperature on the conductor is +90°C.

Operating parameters and compliance with standards

The NSSHÖU cable is designed to operate at a nominal voltage Uo/U 0.6/1 kV and a maximum working voltage for alternating current Uo/U 0.7/1.2 kV and for direct current Uo/U 0.9/1.8 kV. The cable has passed voltage tests at a level of 3000 V and has an insulation resistance of min. 20 MOhm x km. The minimum bending radius is: stationary – 4 x cable diameter; flexible – 10 x cable diameter; freely moving – 15 x cable diameter. Long-term load is total cross-section x 15 N/mm². The cable meets the requirements of DIN VDE 0250 part 812 and has the CE mark confirming compliance with the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU.
