Halogen-free control cable – safety and flexibility
This grey, flexible control cable JZ-520 HMH LS0H is a solution designed for installations requiring a high level of fire safety. The cable is particularly recommended for buildings of Hazard to Life (ZL) character, such as office buildings, hospitals, schools, airports or railway stations. Its halogen-free construction minimizes the emission of toxic gases and smoke in the event of a fire, protecting the health and lives of users and sensitive electronics.
Construction and properties
The cable is characterized by a solid construction ensuring reliable operation in various conditions. Made of multi-strand copper conductors class 5, insulated with a halogen-free polymer mixture TI7. The conductors are twisted in layers for optimal pitch, and the whole is surrounded by a halogen-free type M1 plastic coating. The cable jacket color – grey (RAL 7001) – facilitates cable identification in the installation. The cable is metered, allowing for precise measurement of the required length.
A key feature is the reaction to fire class B2ca-s1a, d0, a1 according to EN 50575, which guarantees limited flammability and low smoke emission. This cable is designed to operate in temperatures from -40°C to +70°C (stationary) and from -15°C to +70°C (flexible), at a voltage of 300/500V. The minimum bending radius is 12.5x cable diameter for flexible operation and 4x diameter for fixed installation.
Applications and benefits
This cable finds application not only in public buildings, but also in machines, conveyor belts, production lines and air conditioning systems. It is ideal for installations requiring high fire resistance and minimal emission of toxic substances. Thanks to its flexibility, it is suitable for both fixed laying and dynamic applications with medium mechanical load. It meets the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking). Additionally, the cable is resistant to oils according to DIN VDE 0473-811-404/DIN EN 60811-404/IEC 60811-404.
