Welding wire G3SI1 GOLD dia. 0.6 /5kg/ 1150170062
Universal welding wire for low-carbon steels
This welding wire, with a diameter of 0.6 mm, is a proven choice for both professional welders and those performing occasional welding work. Designed for MAG welding, it ensures high-quality connections and reliability in various applications. The copper coating improves current conductivity and stabilizes the welding arc.
Application and properties
G3Si1 wire is ideal for welding low-carbon structural, boiler and shipbuilding steels. It will also be useful for welding fine-grained carbon-manganese steels. It allows for flexible adjustment of welding parameters – high current with spray arc and low current with short-circuit metal transfer. This allows for efficient welding of materials of different thicknesses and in different positions (except vertical down).
- Versatility: Suitable for welding structural, boiler, shipbuilding and carbon-manganese steels.
- Flexibility: The ability to use different current intensities allows adaptation to a specific task.
- High quality: Compliance with PN-EN ISO 14341-A: G422MIC 3Si1; AWS A5.18: ER70S-6; DIN 8559: SG2 guarantees solid and durable connections.
- Approvals: It has approvals from TÜV, DB, LR, ABS, NAKS and a CE certificate, which confirms its safety and compliance with requirements.
- Chemical composition: Carbon content (C=0.1%), silicon (Si=0.9%) and manganese (Mn=1.5%) provide appropriate mechanical properties of the weld. Copper coating (Cu) improves electrical conductivity and stabilizes the welding process.
Operating parameters and shielding gas
Direct current (DC+) with the plus connected to the electrode is recommended for welding with this wire. Various shielding gases can be used: CO2 or a mixture of argon with CO2 (Ar+CO2). The mechanical properties of the weld using an Ar+20%CO2 mixture are: yield strength Re = 490 N/mm², tensile strength Rm = 590 N/mm², elongation A5 = 25%, impact energy KV = 100 J (-10°C) and 80 J (-20°C). These parameters demonstrate the high strength and resistance of the weld to low temperatures.
