Welding wire for universal applications in structural steel

This welding wire, made of manganese-silicon steel coated with copper, is a versatile solution for MAG welding. It is suitable for both professional installers' workshops and in the hands of experienced DIY enthusiasts. It allows for efficient joining of low-carbon structural, boiler and shipbuilding steels, as well as fine-grained carbon-manganese steels. Its versatility results from the possibility of working at different current intensities – both high (spray arc) and low (short-circuit metal transfer).

Properties and application

The G3SI1 wire is characterized by good arc stability and provides clean, aesthetic welds. The copper coating improves electrical conductivity and facilitates welding. It can be used with CO2 shielding gases or Ar+CO2 mixtures. It meets European standards (PN-EN ISO 14341-A: G422MIC 3Si1) and international standards (AWS A5.18: ER70S-6, DIN 8559: SG2). Werkstoff nr 1.5125 confirms its compliance with structural materials. Designed for welding in almost all positions (except vertical down), which increases its practicality on construction sites or in workshops.

Parameters and approvals for demanding applications

This wire has been approved by reputable certification institutions such as TÜV, DB, LR, ABS, NAKS and has the CE marking. This ensures high quality and reliability of the welded joints. Using Ar+20%CO2 gas, the following mechanical properties of the weld can be achieved: yield strength Re at 490 N/mm², tensile strength Rm equal to 590 N/mm², elongation A5 of 25% and impact energy KV equal to 100 J at -10°C and 80 J at -20°C. The chemical composition of the wire includes a carbon content of 0.1%, sulfur 0.9% and manganese 1.5%, as well as a copper coating (Cu). Thanks to this combination of parameters, it is a product worthy of trust in demanding industrial and construction applications.
